Please help - Bedtime routine for 8 month old

Hi

My daughter is 8 months old today and will not sleep in her cot at all....at night she screams the place down and in the day she uses it as a trampoline!

So I was wondering what peoples bedtime routines are, what time your LO goes to bed and if anyone has any advice. I've not been brave enough to try CC but fear I may have to? I'm not usually a soft touch but just hate the idea of CC

Heeeellllpppppp :S

xxx

P.S forgot to add she will not sleep in the day at all except perhaps a 10min nap in the car!

Hi hun, our LO's are nearly the same age.

Our routine is as follows:

Dinner between 6pm-7pm

Bath between 7pm-7:30pm

Bottle after bath, as story and then straight in bed.

LO has always been really good at bedtime and it's rare if we have to go in there after we've put her down.

The only thing I could maybe guess, because of the lack of day time sleeps, is that perhaps she's going to bed too tired?

AM still has 2 or 3 naps in the day otherwise she is a rat bag!! She isn't as good with going down for a nap and there are occasions where she has a melt down. But generally she is good. I think nap times are hit and miss as there's no lead up for going for a nap, where as with bed time, she knows it's coming.

Not sure if that helped at all?!

Good luck

xx

No, we have been really lucky with her. She self settles well (with the help of a dummy, dreading the day the dummy fairies are coming to take the dummies!)

Personally I have nothing against CC (although some people on here do) if you are at your wits end, it's something that needs to get sorted and if CC helps, so be it. I have heard success stories with CC, but I think you need to be sure you can be fully committed to it. If you go in cave after a while then all the hard work you have done is ruined and all the crying was for nothing!!

Hiya as we both work full time we dont have a regimented routine however most of it happens like this

4/5pm tea time with bottle of juice/water

6.30pm bath
7-7.30pm bottle always in our room resting on a pillow on our bed while we sing/read etc to him - he always falls asleep in our room then we carry him to bed.

He always sleeps in his room, we have a spare bed in there so sometimes if and when he wakes we feed him in there. He just goes straight to bed. We are lucky xx
