WTF?! My breastfed 4 week old slept for 7 HOURS last night!!!
My LO is exclusively breastfed and normally wakes for a feed every 2.5 - 3 hours in the night, sometimes more often than this. Last night she went to sleep downstairs in my husband's arms at about 8.30-9pm. We took her up to bed with us at about 10.30 (she usually wakes when we put her down). Not only did she not wake up when we put her down but she slept til 4am!!! I am not complaining but wtf?! How can she suddenly go so long without food!?! I on the otherhand was awake every hour checking she was ok lol!! So am just as tired as normal
My LO is bottle fed and the other day she slept for 8 hours in the morning but then i struggled to get her to go back to sleep during the night...wasnt fun well it meant we both got loads of sleep in the morning but less at night.
This same thing happened to me last night! I did the same as you- got terrible sleep because I kept checking on her. I have to keep telling myself to listen to my baby, if she's hungry or too wet, she will let me know! Otherwise, let's enjoy it!
My LO did this at about the same age, it was great for about 2 weeks then she grew out of cluster feeding and it all went tits-up! Then to top it all off she hit the 6 week growth spurt and didn't sleep for more than an hour at a time for about a week! She's much better again now but I now know that young babies' sleep patterns can be sooo unpredictable.
So don't worry about LO, you'll soon know about it if something's wrong! And enjoy all that lovely sleep coz next week might ne a totally different story xx
