Is wearing your LO ignoring them?

I still wear LO quite a bit in and out and OH has commented that its like Im ignoring him when he is in it instead of interacting with him

I chatter away to him, show him things and he looks about etc but he is making me feel quilty! We play on the floor, he is in his walker 5-10 minutes, we go walks in the pram so am I doing wrong by wearing him? He is always really content in his Ergo. Aarrggghh, men! Go back to work OH!

Erm.... No!! Shutting the door on your baby for hours is ignoring them. You can't play 24 hours a day!

No?? how odd to even say that. As above said ignoring would be not with you at all. Its ok to wear baby while doing house work. They really just want mums after all. You cant play all day.

I think they probably learn a lot when you are busying around getting stuff done and wearing them, I think it's probably very good for them.

um..no. Regardless of any interaction, your baby is still feeling your warmth and knowing that mummy is holding him. Its a wonderful snug happy time for your baby!

Not at all, if you are chatting to him and showing him things anyway, that is interacting!
I wish Adrian wasnt so heavy so i could put him in his more!
As the others have said, he'll love just being with you. If he was bored, he'd grumble

Thank you all for the reassurance!

I think its because Im not in LOs face all the time that OH seems to think this way iykwim? Im not shaking toys at him or bouncing him on my knee so apparently that equates to ignoring him

To a baby, toys and playing aren't the only ways to learn. Just being around you, hearing your voice and seeing you doing things can teach them a lot about the world.

I chuck her on my back when I need to get some house work done. It is better than leaving her to whinge on the floor and if she is tired she goes to sleep.
