Cows milk allergy, Horrid eczema, drop in centiles and almost no weight gain :(

My poor girls. Ava just grew out of her allergy(15 months old) and now Allison (14.5 weeks old) seems to have one.

I took her to her doctor today because she seemed to have really bad eczema like Ava used to and the cream I had was not working. We got there and got her weighted and then waited for the doctor. On December 30th she was 11lb 6.8 oz. today she was 11lb 7oz so she has only gained .5 oz in 12 days. She has also dropped from 39th percentile to 19th. She eats 30 oz a day and doesn't bring up but the doctor figure if it's an allergy her body is not absorbing all the nutrients she needs from her normal formula causing her not to gain properly. I knew something was up months ago when she refused food but was still gaining. I feel bad for my poor baby girl and hope she stars gaining soon. We have to go back in 2 weeks to make sure she is. She's now on isomil, same as my oldest was.

arwww poor wee bubba. i had the same thing with alex. he didnt gain any weight in a month, and this month he has gained 1lb in 4 weeks. he saw the consultant today about his eczema but the dr dosent think its a milk allergy as he dosent have any other symptoms. he takes 40 oz over 24 hours. i dont understand how he isnt a little fatty!! he has dropped from the 75th percentile when born to the 9th percentile at present. x

Awe poor bubs. Hope everything gets sorted for you. Good to see he's gained a pound in a months. That's awesome progress at least. My oldest her only symptom was the eczema. She ate a ton and gained normal. She was just really fussy and crabby.

thanku, me too, hes skin is so bad. my family now call him the grumpy baby. hes not very content, but he dosent have colicy symtpoms, and he dosent vomit. il be interested to see what the blood sample says. If its normal then il just have to accept its one of those things. I suggested milk allergy ages ago.

this is my wee boys eczema, pretty awful x

It's gotten a bit better. She had a realy bad reaction to the soy and is now on nutramigen. She has only been on it a week. I called her doctors office about her still havering the eczema and she said now that she has it, it may take a while to go away so to stick with the creams and I got her avenno baby eczema bath wash which seems to help to. We use .5 percent on her face and 1 percent in her body but it's not helping much.

Any news on the blood samples?

I'm no expert but Jacqui that type of eczema does look like it could well be cows milk allergy related, my second eldest had a very similar pattern of rash and he had a very severe milk allergy (not intolerance as didn't affect his digestion at all but he would get rashes; hives and even an anaphylactic reaction if he took in or got splashed with anything containing any type of milk product), hopefully the blood test is conclusive; the paediatrician said they get a lot of false negs and pos with babies of that age but my second eldest's results were beyond a shadow of a doubt xx
