Do sheepskin rugs help baby to sleep better?

I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased a sheepskin/lambskin rug for their baby to sleep on? I've heard they help baby to sleep better? Does this work?! If so, can I place my 6 week old directly onto the rug to sleep or should I put the rug under the bottom sheet?

Thanks.

Some people swear by them but I have heard that they are an over-heating risk in very young babies.xxx

We got one for LO at Xmas when she was 2 months old. She sleeps really well on it but have only used it for naps (although she has slept 4-5 hrs in it). It is supposed to regulate their temp ie keep them warm in winter and cool in summer.
