we off to spain last week of july when lo will be 13 1/2 months... oh does not handle heat well either so he will prob spend part of afternoon in room with lo while we all lounge in the sun...! if you make sure lo is always in the shade and doesnt over heat am sure you will be fine. also as some places are hotter than others just go for somewhere that isnt gonna be as hot! we go to nothern spain for that reason

I have heard of people taking lo much younger. I think as long as you stay out the direct sunlight and take the usual precautions like sun lotions plenty to drink etc you cant go wrong! Go for it and have fun!! We were gonna go in oct all inclusive but because lo has cmpi we are gonna wait til after she is one when we can try her on milk products etc and see how she gets on.

xx

I took my LO to Jamaica at 8 weeks and 6 months. Ill be taking him next month as well. He was fine with the heat and at 6 months i could tell he enjoyed himself. Your LO should be fine at that age.

hi there, we took our LO on holiday to portugal when he was 4 months old and it was quite straightforward. He coped with the heat just fine, we just kept him in the shade with sun hat on and offered plenty of drinks.

I suppose one thing that made it easier was that he wasnt crawling then and was happy to sit on my knee playing with his toys so the flight was fine. He is now 8 months, crawling, and after a quick cuddle is always trying to climb down off my knee and explore which would make plane journeys a bit more of a challenge now!

Id say go for it... id love a holiday now.

well..i took my first son on holiday to spain when he was 9 months! and then again about 18 months and i am not going away again till my youngest is atleast 5!
It just wasnt a holiday i dont think i have been so stressed before. He wouldnt sleep at night, cry and winge most of the day and wouldnt eat both times. not to sure if it was the heat or what but nope not for me. not saying ur LO will be the same she might be fine. i have taken my son on holiday in this country and he was much better.

have you looked at Eurocamp hun? It is really cheap to get the ferry across to Europe and there are campsites all over. The "tents" are really like little houses with proper beds and everything.

When i was little my parents took us on an holiday across Europe, ending in Italy. We stayed in eurocamp parks and I can honestly say it was one of the best holidays ive ever had (and ive been to some pretty cool places!)

I think this is what we are going to do with Leo this year, the temperature wont be too hot either.
