What about big girls?

Not to be rude, but what would your "friend" say if she saw this posted? I would hate to think somebody was talking about my child behind my back like this.

I think the way some of you are taking this thread is a lot more disturbing than the OP.

The subject itself is disturbing doesn't matter how you take it. I have a daughter and in NO way would I ever wanting her to even talk like that!... wow.

A chair is for sitting not pleasure. esp to a 3 yr old. sorry.

Cattia, I don't think what her friend's daughter is doing is all that disturbing. It can be a normal phase. The parents might be ignoring it because sometimes that works with toddlers. Habits can go away if you don't give them attention.

Sorry, but if I ever found a friend was commenting on my parenting on the internet, I would be really hurt.

I totally agree, I don't think it's all that disturbing either, it bothers me more that people would think the child is some sort of sexual deviant, to me that's over sexualising their behavuoir. I would totally just ignore it or at least I wouldn't attempt to address a child about it when I had friends there. I see what you mean though, although think the OP had a valid question but maybe could have phrased it in a more general way.

Children touch themselves because it feels good with no sexuality attached. Same way people scratch their rear-ends. My daughter had her hand down the back of her pants scratching her butt all night today. I didn't think anything of that other than to tell her it wasn't ladylike.
