My boy loves the baby tv channel, half an hour here or there means I can do a few chores. x

Just background noise here too. I have it on during the day, say half the time, and sometimes he glances up to see but always goes straight back to his toys. He doesn't watch any kids/baby TV either - we haven't ever done it so I don't plan on starting! x

we have Sprout TV here in seattle, i used to have it on all the time, but i got made fun of for having the songs stuck in my head and singing along. but it has shows like Caliou, the wiggles, bearnstein bears etc. Doesnt watch it anymore though. TV is on in the background, but its on mute and i have music playing usually. (mostly dubstep for any one who cares )

I let LO watch it for half hour so I can cook tea. She loves it, and I don't think a little bit hurts

LO watches baby tv when she's getting too tired to play but not quite ready for nap, don't see any harm in half hour here and there

I WISH she liked it more. She'll watch when sitting on my lap but once in her swing forget it. Kinda defeats the purpose lol. I have the whole baby Einstein collection. My friends swear by it. So far my lo does not agree haha maybe as she gets a bit older

I would gladly turn on a childrens program for her if she showed any interest in the TV, but usually she doesn't. DD would rather play. She seems to like music a whole lot, so if I'm not watching anything, I will turn on Pandora for her. She listens to all my rock music a concert of Foo Fighters entertained her long enough for me to take a shower

We do not own a television.
If we did, maybe I would use it, I'm not sure.

We have Disney Junior on pretty much all day but it's mostly background noise and I tend to watch it more than he does

He spends loads of time in his jumperoo, playing with his toys (a lot more now he's sitting unassisted) on his playmat, in his door bouncer, activity station, I play with him loads and he spends loads of time randomly giggling at the dog who is doing nothing

I tend to only actually sit him in front of the TV for maybe an hour a day in total for say 15 minute periods of time while I make his bottle, get tea ready etc. My LO doesn't nap during the day so it really helps.

I don't think it's so bad so long as they aren't plonked in front of the TV for hours on end, every day with no other real interaction or stimulation.
