My post was not aimed at you Hot Tea. I apologise if you think it was.

There was actually nothing wrong with this thread until someone came along and took offence to something that wasn't even offensive. I understood what nicnicjayne meant, it's just a shame that not everyone did.

I'm pretty sick of this place just now to be honest. I'm sick of walking around on eggshells, everything that is said is taken out of context. I came into this thread for a bit of a laugh, but well, we can see what has happened yet again.

I apologise if my words upset anyone, especially Hot Tea.
I am not offended at all! I just never forsaw anyone pinpointing what I said, you know? Silly me...

I used to think of a "foof" as a pet name for a vagina but now all I can think of is Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba when I hear it!
I'm not sure what we will call Phoebe's yet. TBH I feel unsure about the what to call it because I never want her to think there is anything dirty, funny or shameful about a vagina, saying vagina, or human sexuality in general. Right now I call it her "bits" when refering to the region because that feels the most comfortable for my husband and I. I would use the technical word but "vulva" is such a strange word to say. I do plan on teaching Phoebe the proper words eventually but right now bits seems age appropriate and probably will be for the next few years.

William calls his his Willy, I call them willies to I am sure many know what a willy is. I dont have a girl but always called mine my fanny. My mum was prudish and never heard her saying proper names although I knew proper names of them anyway. I dont think theres anything wrong with using proper terms either. Just some people are horrified at them which is weird.

I always (well, since moving to Scotland from Germany) thought that fanny was kind of derogatory? I would never even say the word, as I thought it was just one step better than the c-word.

Is this a regional thing or did I just get it completely wrong?

I've never heard fanny being used as derogatory. Fanny is a woman's name too
