Whining

So my 5 and half month old LO has discovered the art of whining. Sigh. She makes long high-pitched whining sounds constantly, especially though when she's hungry or bored. It's not a very pleasant sound to hear....in fact, I find it very exhausting. Anyone else been through this? Got any tips on how to encourage her NOT to whine??

Thanks!

Not really sorry, learn to tune it out is all you can really do, it gets worse from there but at least when they are a bit older you can just roll your eyes and walk away from it.

The whining is just worse then. At her age, it's a mix of whining/trying to convey her needs!

I feel your pain. The whining is exhausting and frustrating. It started for me around 5 months too. I did find that it was also connected to teething, so it may improve in time.

I did find that taking him out helped. He tends to be quieter when we go out and I think I can then tune it out more. I know that is not particularly helpful! Also, I know this sounds silly but making myself a cup of tea seemed to calm me and make me feel better.

I hope it is better soon x

Rats! I totally thought someone would have a magic solution. I'd way rather hear her cry than hear her whine....sigh. Thanks for the comments, ladies!
