Mine had an ultrasound on his hips when he was the same age as your LO. He wasn't strapped to a bed but we had to hold him quite firmly in certain positions, which he didn't like. He was fine as soon as it was over and calmed down quickly after a cuddle. I wouldn't cancel, if there is a problem it is so much easier to fix now than when they are older. x
Alex had one and I stayed with him and he was placed on a bed (which isn't cold) and scanned by a very nice doctor. It's over in minutes and doesn't hurt or upset the baby unless they are a little upset by being held.
My LO had a hip scan when he was only a few weeks old. I didn't see anything wrong but did it for peace of mind. It only takes about a minute. You take LO clothes off and they use a scanner item on LO hips and tell you straight away that hips are fine and you can go! LO was crying only because he didn't like being naked at the time. He was ok after I put his clothes back on. Best to get it over and done with for peace of mind.
I wouldn't cancel either hun My LO had to have a scan on his tummy and back due to possible kidney problems. He was layed on a bed with me right next to him. There weren't any problems which really reassured me
