How long after birth for belly to go away?

I'm 3 weeks post partum, lost all the pregnancy weight right away but I have the worst jiggle belly with more stretch marks than i thought (cant imagine how bad it would have been if i went 8 more weeks to full term!) and I'm not sure if uterus has shrunk all the way down yet. I'm breastfeeding, had a c section and not allowed to work out til BP goes down and I'm at least 6 weeks post partum. How long did it take you to get a decent sized midsection again? What did you do to get it?

after my daughter, just over a year but it was still quite loose on my belly.

After my son.... Well my muscles split apart and I still get asked when my baby is due. He's two.

If you are breastfeeding uterus is probably nearly or fully back to normal place, it does take time to rebuild muscle in stomach n for skin to go back but think how far it had stretched!

I'm surprised how much mine has gone down this time but still have a little overhang which I don't like n it's too soon to exercise! Take it easy n gently start tummy exercises when ur advised its safe to. X

Mines gradually getting there but I'm not sure it will ever be the same. I do sit ups every night and exercise most days. I do wonder how some women managed to get completly flat stomachs 4weeks after!! I need to know lol

There's no real cut and dry answer hun... it depends on the woman, how the pregnancy went, how much they excercise etc... etc... etc... and my OB told me by 6wks (at my post checkup)- that your uterus should be pretty much back to normal.

I never got really big and went into labor at 36+4... so my tummy look pretty much the same as it did before. It took several weeks though for my tummy to go back... and only after I worked out and ate better did I see real change. I didn't lose all the weight right away though... I had to work at it

I'm still waiting for my belly to go back to normal. I've heard that it can take up to a year or two though.

My belly never went back to normal after Jack, and its even worse now after Emily as she will be 4 months tomorrow, and I still have lots of weight to lose. But I never really did that much exercise after having Jack. I have started Pilates as that supposed to be goof and getting your tummy muscles back on track

I gave birth 4 months ago and my belly feels pretty flabby.. I haven't really dieted but I have been told that it takes a while.. it took 9 month for the body to change and stretch so its going to take some time as well to go back to normal.. unfortunately for us
