I am baking cupcakes, little flowers and and pearls on them, Probably look like crap but i have a nice box to put them in and I dont have money for expensive gifts so I make stuff. I pretend kids help me but William isnt interested in baking and Alex would probably decorate the kitchen in flour.

Just curious because I really don't understand it, why do you need to buy for family that's not your mum?
I buy for my Nan because she pretty much brought me up, so I do it as a thank you. Also... I guess it's just sort of a tradition to give mothers/fathers day cards to grandparents in my family

We have always given to nan's in my family, we lived with my grandparents as I was growing up so I was close to them and my mum has little man when I'm at work so he's close to her. Grandparents day seems silly to me for us mothers day is for all maternal figures in LO's life.
For my mum I've got a frame that says nanny which I will put a picture of little man in and I got her a sign that says "I didn't retire I became a full time grandma" because she took early retirement when we had LO to look after him.

It's MOTHERS day! Grandparents day in the uk is usually the last Saturday in September. I know it's tradition in some families to do this but I just don't get why.

Anyway if you insist think of what you'd like to receive from lo it'll prob be what grandmas would like too

I'm going to get one of those double photo frames and put a picture of LO in one side and her hand and foot prints in the other side

To me Mother's Day is celebrating all mothers, not just your own. So to me it doesn't matter that my grandmother isn't my mom, but she gets a card and flowers recognizing that she was/is a great mother, and that I appreciate what she has done.
