If we were doing bottles he'd be doing 50% whether he liked it or not!
Recently i've been spiking his drinks and food with galactagogues and latching LO on when he's sleeping, but so far no milk is coming out

First 2 weeks we did them 50/50 then OH went back to work and started doing night shifts so then obviously it had to be me. She's slept through 6 hours from 6 weeks and 12 hours from 8 weeks.

DH is amazing in lots of ways but when it comes to night feeds, he's useless. Kathryn has EBM so i have to get up to pump for the next feed, he used to help me by feeding Kathryn while I pumped (providing he wasn't at work the next day) but he hasn't helped since Christmas - even though he's only working 3 days a week at the moment.

I do the night feed (if there is one). OH heats the bottle up while I change her nappy though. Otherwise LO gets impatient! And I have trouble getting back to sleep if I have to go downstairs.

In the very early days though we both stumbled our way through them! I'd had an emcs and needed OH to heave me into a sitting position to get out of bed! I was exclusively expressing so was pumping while he was feeding or I'd feed her and then pump, then by the time I got to sleep she'd be waking for another feed! I'd just end up feeling really crappy due to lack of sleep. He'd get narky too obviously as he was working.

But we have the routine all sorted now and it works for us

I did all the night feeds when LO was a newborn for 2 reasons:

1) I was breastfeeding
2) I was on maternity leave

Fortunately my LO started STTN at 9 weeks old so with the odd exception, neither of us had to get up regularly. Now, if LO wakes up because he's sick or for any other odd, random reason, we take turns getting out with him. So if LO wakes up tonight I'll get out with him, and if he STTN for 2 days then wakes up, it's DH's turn. We also take turns sleeping in on the weekends.

We both work and I expect DH to do 50% of the care for DS. He has no problems with this (even if he grumbles about it sometime) but he also recognizes that it's only fair. If I were not working, I would probably get up with LO at night (but that's only because it happens so infrequently. If we were still getting up every night DH and I would have to work something out so that I could get a good nights sleep on a regular basis as well).

Doug works 9am-6pm.
I stay home with Ryland all day and Doug comes home, takes a few hours nap,
then I go to bed and OH deals with the baby ALL night, I got lucky.

but if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to survive 9am-11pm. I'd die.
but I always make sure he has a full stock of bottles ready in the fridge, and all that stuff.

OH has been fantastic. At night generally I'll do the feedings because we've had some issues with DD that he will take her during the day so that i can rest. But the second our angel wakes up for a feed, he will go grab her bottle for me while I change her diaper. Her feeds dont take long, so i dont mind at all, and generally she falls back to sleep with no issues. on the rare occasion while we were having trouble with feeds and bottles if he noticed that i was quite frustrated he would take her and feed her while i went back to sleep.

We alternate nights, have done since the bebe was a week old.
Means we're not both completely exhausted everyday.
But if it's one of our nights and we're ill/tired the other will take over
