As hard as it is, it's a phase and they do grow out of it. They just don't understand that they're separate from you and it takes time to adjust. Do keep trying but don't beat yourself up in the meantime. My little guy used to only sleep on me or on his dad but he's happy in his cot now. It will get easier and while you wait for it to get easier, you could try co-sleeping?

Sorry I got the wrong end of the stick when you said you didn't want him to become too attached. I just got told to put my baby down or he'd get spoiled so many times as I live in a town with loads of OAPS! LOL A baby can't be too attached to it's mother. My baby was exactly the same flapping all over the place until I carried him all day and co slept with him.

Sometimes they hate the sling unless you are constantly in motion and calm down once you start to move about x you can test this by putting them in it and heading out the front door for a walk LOL

Some grow out of it quicker than others mine took about 5 months to lie still asleep unless being cuddles up! Nightmare. You're not alone I hope it passes quicker for you.

Mine hated the swaddle too but tolerated the woombie.

Hello
Poor bubs! Have you tried propping him up a little? Maybe he doesnt like laying flat on his back? I breastfed little one, so I'm up quite a bit, and somedays he is so bad, the only way either of us get any sleep is laying him next to me in the morning after my husband leaves for work. He usually sleeps a good 3 hours straight and I usually have to wake him up.

Well, we both just took a nap, he fell asleep on my chest on his belly with his fleecy blanket, we slept about 2 hours then I woke up and he was still snoozing, so I took him back to his room and placed him in his crib..on his belly *hides* and he's VERY content right now and sleeping good! so, I think I *MAY* have found a solution, he's a sorta good back sleeper, but he's SO unsettled on his back, grunts and cries and wakes up a lot, not sure if he just doesn't like sleeping on his back anymore, so I guess I'll let him sleep how he's comfortable and just keep a closer watch on him.

i think my dom has this issue too, he will gladly fall asleep on our chests and stay like that till woken up,infact hes on daddy now snoozing it up but as soon as i lay him on his back in his moses - KICK KICK CRY SCREAM FART KICK - and this really got me down...i have now taken to side sleeping him and bundling blankets either side so he doesn't roll over, my mother did this with me and my friend currently does it with her daughter and told me to give it a try, it actually works alot better than him being on his back - i kinda get the feeling it may be a spinal thing, noticed how pronounced their spines are when you burp them? it must be a tad uncomfortable as theirs seem curved outwards unlike adults that curve inwards, i dunno, maybe i just spurted some crap...its just the impression i got. Also dom when on his back used to start choking himself in his sleep and it was very distressing for me to watch and jump up too, since side sleeping i havent had that issue...at all!

I am so glad to see this thread!! My LO is one month today as well and same thing!! on occasion I can transfer her from me to her bassinet/crib but more often then not about 5 minutes after I move her she is awake. Well she starts rolling around, swinging her legs and arms. I have left her a few times and she has drifted back off but other times I try leaving her go and she then starts to cry. I guess a few more weeks of snuggling...Ill take it!!! I can not believe she is already a month - it goes way toooooooooo fast
