Car seat, behind driver or passenger?

As the title says, where do you have your car seats in the car?

I keep changing my mind lol and so have to keep moving the isofix base

When it was just Kyle he was behind the passenger, now we have two Kyle is behind the driver and lexi behind the passenger. The only difference would be if you had a side on impact which could happen any side

I read behind passenger seat is better because marginally more accidents hit the driver's side. Ours has to go behind the driver's seat though. It's a two door car and the passenger seats broken so sometimes it just shoots backwards on the runners when you brake. Obviously wouldn't want it to do that and hit LO's carseat.

I heard that behind the driver is best (just shows how different stories can be!) as the driver is more in control and likely to swerve away from an impact meaning the passenger seat is likely to get hit.

I have my eldest behind me (driver) and LO behind passeneger just purely as eldest was behind me to start and I cant be bothered moving them around! Both are pretty safe I reckon.

I put mine in the middle as I've heard it's safer due to the side airbags most cars have now.

I put mine behind the passenger seat so that whilst he is an only child, he is on the pavement side if we need to park on the road. When the next one comes obviously one will have to go behind the drivers seat.

WSS. It's only about 2 or 3% difference but all the same it's a difference.

Then there is the theory that you will park more with the passenger side against pavement so safer getting them out.

Dd was rear facing on passenger side then went forward facing. When new baby arrives dd will stay on passenger side and new baby wiling on driver side as they are more protected being rear facing.

Maria is on the passenger side. She was in the middle with her first car seat but can't secure this car seat with a lap belt so she has to go on one of the sides and we chose the passenger side cos OH always has the drivers seat too far back for her seat to fit in.

I put mine is the middle. My car has side airbags, and I drive a fusion and the car seat is too big to go behind my husband and don't feel like changing its position everytime he drives or rides.

Louis is behind the passenger seat, he's got an extended rear facing seat and OH is tall so it wouldn't go behind drivers seat anyway. I prefer it this way too.
