Cold hands at night help!

My lo always has cold hands at night no matter what the temp is in her room. She sleeps with her hands above her head so covering them is difficult, she sucks her hands to comfort herself so I think when they are wet they get cold. If I cover them with mits she either pulls them off or wakes up constantly!

Help!!!!

Hello, my LO always sleeps with his hands above his head and often has cold hands, but from what I have read and the midwife told me, cold hands and feet are normal and nothing to worry about as long as their back and chest feel warm. We have the groegg and the best room temperature for my LO feels cold to me!

Asda and next make babygrows that have mits as part of the sleeves. I use them for em as scratch mitts as she pulls at her face overnight when she's tired and never keeps proper scratch mitts on. Xxoo

Sophies hands are always cold at night. But it never bothers her. It bothers her more if I try to cover them up!

I've started putting socks on my LO's hands. They seem to stay on better than scratch mitts. Her hands feel like blocks of ice sometimes when she gets up so I'm trying to keep her warmer.

I was told that too. Just check their chest and if that is warm don't worry about hands and feet.
You can get sleeping bags with built in arms for extra warmth if you're worried but they are quite expensive. The arms are detachable.

or there are these ones:

I was also told that a baby will let you know if they are too cold but not if they are too hot... Adrian lets you know either way

I thought the sleepingbags with arms were only for travelling and sleeping outside, and unsafe for sleeping in the house? For danger of overheating. Unless it's really cold in your house?

At 18-19 degrees, Sophie wears a long sleeved vest, a pyjama top and a 2.5 tog sleeping bag. Her body is always nice and warm, but her hands are cold, which is really normal in a baby!

Those fold-over mits on babygros are great. Also if you're using short sleeve vests try long sleeves instead.

As everyone else said though, it's normal for baby to have cold hands.
