Would you recommend a bumbo seat?

I went to buy one today thinking it would cost around $20, and was shocked when i found out they are $60+!!! Even 2nd hand they are around $40. Are they worth this much??? What do you use it for?

p.s I wont be able to feed lo on the bumbo on the floor because my two little dogs would get in the way So will need to get a highchair anyway when the time comes.

I wouldnt recommend it.

I was given a bumbo as a gift when I had my daughter, who is now 2.

She went in it first around 5 months and hated it, tried her everyday for a minute or two and was never happy!! She preferred to roll around the floor! As you cant have LO on the floor I would just get a highchair or a bouncer seat.

I will try the bumbo again with this newbaby but dont have my hopes up!

Oh, and by the time my Lo was around 8 months she could get out of it, tip it over!!!

Both my boys have liked the bumbo seat. Harvey still sits in it now and again. The only thing I'd say is that the play tray can be quite awkward to attach so we don't use that bit much.

I know many of my friends have them and really like them but I personally never really liked the bumbo. LO didn't like to sit in it for long and would fling himself backwards which I thought was very dangerous. It was only used a handful of times before I sold it on ebay.

Total waste of money. My LO will only stay in it for 5 mins max before he starts to moan and also he's a big boy and his chunky thighs get stuck in it!

I liked ours. BUT I think they are very overpriced. I'd have never bought one new (got mine for £10 Inc tray)

It was great when we first starte weaning as lo was still tiny in the highchair we'd bought - and she wasn't a small baby!

We used ours a lot when traveling and eating out n about. Stuck her in it and put her in the middle if the table etc. We have a VERY large kitchen unit - about 6' by 5' island so we put her on there when I was doing stuff but as soon as she started trying to move around this had to stop. She still fits it now with a bit of a squeeze of the legs for travelling and eating if needed.

Total waste of money. We used ours for a little bit when we first started weaning but the highchair was so much easier and LO wasn't particularly comfy in it as his legs are quite chunky.
