Advice Needed: Weaning from swings to cribs for naptime?

Hi everyone. I admit, I have definitely taken advantage of baby swings for my two boys. They're 5 months old and they take their naps in swings during the day. It's just so easy... Likewise, at night, they fall asleep in their swings and then I move them to their cribs.

I've tried several times during the day to lay the boys down in their cribs when they get tired, but they immediately wake up and cry! Likewise, if I do successfully get them to nap in their cribs, they only sleep for 10-30 minutes! In their swings, they'll sleep for an hour!

Any advice? Anyone go through this before?

Also, any advice for how to put them down at night without the swings?

Thanks, ladies!

Trying to think how I weaned Henry.... but I can't really remember? eeeeek urm I think I used to put him in awake and then settle him in the cot - now (usually) I can put him down awake and he'll go to sleep but it was hard work and took a lot of effort! Now he's gone from 15 minute naps in there to 1.5 hours so can't complain!! Just keep persevering - no eye contact, no talking, no bright lights etc
