Thank you for all the suggestions - I will give them all a go!! We're going away on Friday and it will be the first time in a travel cot for him. If he sleeps much better in that then he will definitely be staying in it when we get home! We have a proper mattress for it that fits with no gaps so could be a good option. Just taken him for a loooong walk and got a 45 min nap out of him. I need him to learn to roll from tummy to back pronto

It is after roughly the same amount of time that he wakes up from a nap but completely variable through the night. Aaaarrrggghhh, why do babies not have instruction manuals?!

I can relate to lack of sleep. My LO still won't sleep in the bedroom in her bassinet, so i live in the living room these days, doesn't like her sleep sac apparently and sleeps through the day why she's so awake at night. I get 2 hrs of sleep a night and that's only when OH gets home makes dinner and takes her over for a shift. Its depressing. Hope things get better for you, I know how hard it is going through this.

Good luck, although I hate to say, but the change in routine/surroundings may unsettle him more
So dont give up on the travel cot idea ~ my DD1 loves it now, she gets in so many positions, but never bumps now

My LO is older ( 7 months ) but he recently became very fond of rolling onto his tummy during the day and in his sleep at night. I read that when a baby starts something new they try to master it even in their sleep. Although my son could roll from his tummy to back from 3.5 months when he would roll the other way at night he would "get stuck - unable to roll back" and this would wake him and then me of course and as soon as I got him back on his back, by the time I got back into bed he would have rolled again.

I saw a post by a fellow BNB member who'e LO was doing something similar and she suggested rolling a blanket under the one side to stop her LO from rolling.

I have done this now and its working perfectly ( I put the rolled blanket under his fitted sheet in his cot so I know he is safe ) it stops him from rolling completely over and he lands up sleeping on his side or back. I also have fitted bumpers ( tightly attached ) so he doesn't get his arms or legs stuck in the slats.I do my best to black out the room as dark as possible during the day and night.

If Logan ever wakes in the night now which is very rare, I will go in, I dont talk to him or make proper eye contact so he knows its sleep time. I will do this if he wakes during his day nap as well. I give him his dummy ( he takes a dummy for about a minute or two and then spits it out and goes to sleep ) and walk straight out. ( I keep an eye on him on our video monitor )

If he ever gets really upset, I just repeat it until he settles as hard as it can be sometimes - the consistency pays off.

I did think that but am living in hope that he'll be ok with it! We took him to his grandparents (which is where we're going again) for a week at New Year and he didn't seem bothered at all by the change of scene. Granted he was a lot smaller but I am clinging to hope At least there'll be a few extra pairs of hands to help out if he goes nuts
