Vaginal bleeding with/after bowel movement?? T.M.I dont read if squeemish!

Im 27 wks preg and this has happenned about 4 times in the last 2 months. When i go to the loo for a poo i have some bleeding from my vagina (definitely not from my bum, at first i though it was piles but definitely blood from vagina) the water in the toilet is turned bright red and sometimes there are little drips on the toilet bowl. After i wipe there is no more blood. I.e the bleeding just stops, no spotting in underwear or anything. Ive read on the internet that its quite common in pregnancy and its just a sensitive cervix. But the info is quite vague. Anyone else had this?
Sorry if i've grossed u out. Gonna call docs tomorrow for appointment.

well, it COULD be your mucus plug.. but since you are only 27 weeks i would tell your doctor about it immeadiately. They may consider you a risk for preterm labor and keep a closer eye on you. If you can call in and ask questions that would be a good idea. Other than that maybe hemrroids? but you said it's deffinately not comming from your bum. Bottom line is you need to call your dr right away.

Thanks. I called my midwife this morning and she told me to call the hospital...they are seeing me at 12.30. The maternity nurse i spoke to on the phone sounded like she's never heard of this problem before so it's obviously not a common thing!

hope everything is OK for you.
I had the exact same thing EXCEPT post partum! It was around 3 months pp though and the docs never did figure out what it was. Stopped on its own, only happened once or twice. I figured it was stitches not quite healed.
Let us know how you go on x

Hi ladies. They hooked me up to a fetal heartbeat and movement monitor for an hour. Everything was fine. They also did an internal exam and have taken a swab but say everything looks fine, apparently its 'just one of those things' and not to worry but come back again if it gets worse. I guess theres just some things they cant explain! As long as the swabs come back from the lab clear then i'm happy one of the monitors they strapped to me tho was a contraction monitor and the reading from the machine showed a few movements!! Midwife said there shouldnt be any @ 28 wks but its probably just irritation from when baby moves! Hope so!
