we went through this as well...the comfort milk the gaviscon, the carobel the ranitidine and the only thing that has worked is enfamilAR (on prescription) and losec.....dont mess around....go to your GP and say the health visitor(i am one!!!) reccommended it.....give both a go and hopefully in a week you will be like us! a scream free house!

DONT leave with out losec mupps! and try the milk too or ask for nutramigen or neocate!gps generally ask the health visitor for advice! good luck...there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
feel free to PM me if you need anything! i know its tough but you will soon have a quiet house!

We went through the same. I called my HV and she told me on several occasions to get emergency GP appointments (my LO was also dropping centiles).

Agree, don't let them fob you off, get medications. My LO got ranitidine but was later diagnosed with cows milk protein Intolerence and the difference in her was incredible when I went dairy free (bf) but you can get the milks mentioned above to trial.

Was a horrendous period and I really sympathise. Video tape a feed if you can to show the GP or HV, it's sods law that she will be a perfect sleeping baby when you go back to the Docs!

If you can get a copy of Dr Harvey Karps Happiest Baby on the Block, it gives you great soothing strategies for the baby. I spent the first 2 months pacing the floor, shushing her and jiggling her. Also the dummy was a lifesaver for calming her after feeding.

It will get better x

Silly question but is the milk definitely coming out of the teats? My lo is on gaviscon and the first day on it wasn't great until I realised that he was struggling to get the milk out of the bottle with the gaviscon in it

Thanks for the info all . She has been settled for most of the afternoon. I gave her a bottle without Gaviscon just to see if she would take that without screaming and she did, although she did throw half of it back up on me 20 minutes later.

I tried all the different teats we had and she was still screaming with it so i'll have a look for some different ones tomorrow as the size 2 ones we had were a different shape and she didn't seem to like it. Will also be going back to the GP aswell.

LO is now with the MIL for a few hours so me and OH can go to the cinema for a break!

Are u using 2 sachets in one bottle or 1 sachet, wen we was on the 3 dosages he was really bad, he poos were rock solid, now were just using 1 sachet in every other bottle, he has 5 a day n I use gaviscon in 3 of them n he seems to b better. I bought sma staydown to try instead of usin gaviscon, it does seem to help him, there a ballache to make, but he rarely sick on them.
