So unsettled after night feed - when will it end!!

Hi

My boy is great from his last feed to whatever time he wakes in the night, which varies.

After this feed though I can rarely get a burp out even though I try for ages and hold him upright. When I put him back down he is ok for about 30 mins then the noises start which is wind, this eventually wakes him up and he cries. I can take him in and out of his moses many times but never manage to burp him. Its awful as he is so tired and asleep but obv uncomfortable.

This is driving me insane as I am starting my day at 2am most days and its shattering. Its been going on from as long as I remember.
We had 3 good nights last week where he went back down and slept till his next feed, but it didnt last.

I just keep thinking he'll grow out of it soon but im still waiting! Not sure how many more nights I can take of it! It ruins my days as I am so tired to go anywhere

Anyone elses baby the same? Or any ideas? x

Poor you. My LO is 15 weeks and recently has started burping with almost no effort which is nice as she used to have lots of wind issues too. Have you tried infacol or another gas drop?

Does he wake for the feed or do you wake him up? Have you tried doing a dream feed? I found my bub had very little gas after dream feeding.

I wonder if it could be a gas buildup from earlier in the day - have you tried pushing his legs to his chest and bicycling his legs?

Thanks, strangely he has started to be easier to burp in the day too since we stopped using infacol, ive tried gripe water but it makes him sick. Bought detinox but not used it yet as he was burping ok with nothing. Also he is on gaviscon so hate giving him things.
I may try detinox in his night feeds see if it helps.
No I dont wake him, he always wakes. Yes tried deamfeeds which tbh most feeds at night are like that he is always so sleepy. I agree and think its a build up , wish it just wasnt that bloody time everyday!! xx

My little girl I can't get to burp during night feedings at all but it never upsets her, she's fine. Usually she winds up farting instead of burping.

I have her on the sensitive formula for gas and fussiness though, so maybe that helps? I dunno, but she's fine without having to burp during the night. During the day it's not an issue, I can always get something out of her!

Have you tried ramping the Moses basket so that he's not lying fully flat? Made a good difference to our little one.
