My lo has the same thing! He also favors his laft side. The dr. said it usually corrects itself when they start moving more. Hopefully it goes away soon!

My daughter has the very same issue - just on one side. I felt awful as I didnt even notice it, the doc did. Its so common now a days as babies have to lay on their back for sleeping, Also very common in premmie babies, my daughter was 7 weeks premmie - Noone told me this information!!!

I bought the Clevamama pillow too and I think its great, she's only using it about 2 weeks now but he head hasnt got worse which is what I was worried about and she doesnt favour the one side anymore.

I read when baby is active the baby and baby gains more head control this should sort itself out.

The doc told me it should sort itself out but if it doesnt at least she's a girl and will have long hair - Not what I wanted to hear!!

Right - i am investing in one of those pillows right now! Thanks for the link!! He def moves around in the night but I did notice yesterday when I observed his naps carefully that he does tend to lay with his head on that flat spot more often! I've found that he will sleep really well on his side during the day for his naps, padded by cushions on either side, so I'm going to do that during the day (putting him on opposite side to his flat spot!) and then he can have the pillow in his cot at night as I don't like to have him on his side in the night where I can't keep an eye on him!

I could have written this thread myself! I'm worried about my LOs head, because from the top, it looks kind of like a wonky triangle! Its really wide and flat, and from the side it just goes straight up. I certainly don't want it to stay that way! He doesn't like tummy time and just gets frustrated with himself, because he can't move much, and he dribbles everywhere.

My oh's nephew is 5yrs old next month and his is exactly the same!

Hi my little fella had exactly the same his right side was totally flat he would only look one way and was that flat his ear had moved out of the correct position when I took him to the clinic to be weighed the health visitor referred me to a physio

She explained that some babies pull a muscle as they are delivered so she give me a few simple exercises to do with him, she told me to give him plenty of tummy time and sitting up time after about 4 weeks the exercises worked a treat and the flatness was starting to round back off and within 3 month was completely back to normal

Def give the pillow a go, it helped my boy for sure.

Lully2011 - keep using the pillow, you will notice a difference in a couple of weeks or so.

Also try do as much tummy time and try to keep your little ones off their backs during the day if possible. I would use the pillow when my son played on his play mat ( see pic below - he would also fall asleep he was so comfy ) or if he was in his bouncer I would put it behind him.

Thanks

Yeah tummy time is so important, I let my lil one do it every day but she only takes about 7-8mins before screaming the house down, I find sitting her up in the corner of the sofa takes alot of pressure off her head too and she likes it as she's a nosey little one

My LO had a very flat head as a baby. It is completely gone now, it started to go as soon as he was able to sit and and began to sleep on his tummy (1 year plus) X

Doctors are recommending babies spend 20 mins of tummy time everyday to strengthen their necks but also to correct the flat heads that lots of babies are getting these days because we are advised to make them sleep on their backs.
