Poppy has tried tea but only a tiny bit like a teaspoon full. I don't mind if she wants some when she's a bit older (probably 2+) but for now she's fine with water and breast milk.

Tea prevents iron absorption so not a good idea for babies, we do put our mug to her mouth sometimes though, she doesn't drink any at all but loves it, strange child!

Hmm, did they specify what type of tea? Because here it's similar, I've been told it's okay for LO to have fruit/herbal tea. Not tea with caffeine though.

I actually remember my little sister having tea from a bottle when she was little but I think it was ok "back in the day" (20+ years ago) and pretty common. I wouldn't give tea now, tea has caffeine in it and he doesn't need anything else to keep him stimulated at night!

My LO is a crappy milk drinker and refuses plain water so he has a cup of juice with his meals, but it's very diluted so more like favoured water and most of it ends up splashed all over him anyway, his current favourite thing is shaking his cup like a rattle and tipping it over his tray.

Everyone always tries to talk me into giving tea to my 2 year old. IMO there is no need, it's full of caffeine and interferes with their body's ability to absorb iron. They need their iron more than a bit of tea.

I would never give my baby drink any drink containing caffeine!!

I would however give some herbal teas-camomile/fennel etc.

If she meant english breakfast tea, then i think it's ridiculous.

When I was in nursery on nice days they used to sit us in the grass with a cup of coffee! I suppose it could have been decaf but 20+ yrs ago I doubt it.

My sister used to give her eldest chamomile tea at naptime - worked every time.

really?! Why are people trying to keep their children hyper?! If tea was a good sedative I would consider using it!
