Crying in the night?

Hiya ladies

I was just wondering if any of your LO's are the same? Hollie has been waking up every 1-2 hours every night just crying, not like a whimper, proper bawling her eyes out, then we pick her up and she falls straight back to sleep? I thought she might be hungry but she just falls back to sleep but only when you pick her up? I just don't know what's causing it

My LO was exactly the same - at 6 months he started crying every hour or so but would go straight back to sleep when we picked him up. We also had real trouble getting him back in his cot as he'd start crying again the moment we put him back down. This lasted around two months at it's worst and TBH could have been a number of things as it also coincided with the start of weaning and teething. One thing however that became quite obvious when he rolled onto his tummy one night and slept much better, was that he had suddenly hated sleeping on his back. We started to put him to sleep on his side (he always then rolls onto his tummy) and since then we've had much better nights. He still wakes most nights around once or twice but sometimes we can just pat and shush him back to sleep or just pick him up for a cuddle and then put him back in his cot.

Sorry I can't really help too much as it could be a number of things but just wanted to share our experience.

Not quite the same but Amelia cries while still asleep, sometimes up to 4 times a night. All I do is go in and stroke either her hand or cheek and she goes straight back to sleep. I was told it might either be teething or night terrors and they just want comforting, the latter makes more sense to me xxx

This may not be relevant, but probably worth a google. My baby had night terrors and would wake up randomly crying/balling because of them. Sounds like prob not what your baby has due to them being calm as soon as you pick them up but check it out just in case x

my LO was doing this for around a month and only just stopped doing it (last week!) he never wanted milk either tried shush pat and cry it out, giving cuddles just water and nothing worked! he would cry for 1-2hrs a night. i actually had a breakdown last week, changed his milk so he had more room for food and hey presto he slept through! i know ur baby might be too young for weening, but just a little success story because i thought i would never get sleep again! (my DD slept through from 6 weeks so i didnt have any experience with this!) xxx
