Baby HAS to cry before falling asleep?

Well, not always, but usually. Before my girl falls asleep she suddenly gets really fussy, cries for about 2 minutes, and then is out. Any one else have a LO that does this???

I just think it's weird.

It seems weird, but it's probably normal --as our LOs only real response is crying, it's probably more of a reflux than anything else -- my son is two months and for the first week or so, the second, he was 'crying' I ran to his basket terrified -- I realised that every baby has their routine for settling -- with Finn, his sounds were/are almost like the devil incarnate/speaking in tongues, but realised he was just processing and settling down....

hope I helped a little!

best wishes

ps. unless my LO really is the devil incarnate, but haven't seen any glowing red eyes or hounds from hell (I have cats, tho)..........

Yep. I think it's a good thing - my theory is that it gets the last bit of energy out and helps them into a deep sleep.

Maybe she's crying because she's fighting sleep? Our little guy does this too. He cries for about half a minute then falls asleep as soon an the binky goes in his mouth.
