One thing I do miss..... Waking up just because my body is ready to! I'm lucky that Thea wakes up smiling most mornings and William generally wakes me up by calling 'mummy I've got a teddy here for you/the blue stars on for you/can u come here for a cuddle....' so there ae worse ways to be woken!

I'll join you although I am now cosleeping and will be working towards him being in his own bed ( we're going to cosleep on a mattress by his cot and then as it's a cotbed take one side down and have the mattress by his bed and encourage him, then do gradual removal and as he gets to 18mths we're going to try that australian baby whisperer's role play technique - so no hurry - I feel more positive now I've accepted that this is it for now (conaps to so I don't get free time at naptime or his bedtime) and that has enabled me to do this in a gentle way (as am a massive wimp haha).

I co-slept up until 10 months with Louis, one day he decided he liked his cot, no crying involved! He's started waking up again during the night and as I'm quite emotional atm about how fast he's growing up and not wanting hugs during the day, I love love love my sleepy night time cuddles

Majority of your babies are quite old for not sleeping through. For those of you with weaned babies, have you tried giving some custard or goodnight milk before bed ? - My son slept through from 11wks but around 6 months started waking through the night again, I found both custard and GN Milk worked great. Just an idea

Most nights I'm over the moon if I get 2 hours in a row! Lol, although I have had nights where I've done dream feeds where I've been the one who's asleep but, for only being 5 weeks old I'm very proud of how my little man sleeps at night! I get about 6 hours on average in 2/3 blocks which isn't so bad!

XxX

I think you assume the only reason a baby wakes in the night is because they're hungry when in fact there will be umpteen factors in play.

You were very lucky to have a baby sleeping through so young. There isnt a set standard for this though and they'll do it when they're good and ready. Also I wouldn't fancy giving my child sugar laden custard before bed.

I have tried everything I know to try and get my kids to sleep through (all that I felt appropriate anyway!) so I'd say we aren't doing anything wrong or not doing something we shouldnt, we're just the percentage of parents who dont have the easy nights - gotta be someone! (why me?!? Hehe)
