Only had the implant. Didnt agree with me (or my sister who had it). I got it 3 weeks after having LO and bled continuously for 7 1/2 months til I got it taken out.

I would say go with the implant as if it doesnt agree you can get it out, although the injection is only for 3 months so if you can put up with issues for that long then go for whichever really.

Not much help am I lol

ive had both, tbh, i would get the shot first to see if your body handles it and if its good, get the implant!
some woman dont do so well on the implant and its a shame if you have to take it right back out. My Dr. told me that the two have very similar "ingredients" so its wise to see if your body can manage first.
I had the shot i think twice and then had the implant for 3 years, when it came out i went directly for a new implant for another 3 years.

I am getting the ParaGard (copper) IUD, which doesn't put out hormones. The injection kind of freaks me out, because if it doesn't agree with you, you're just screwed for 3 months until it's out of your system. Also, you have to go to get the injection periodically. I can get the IUD once and be set for up to 10 years. I've had a baby before, so the insertion shouldn't hurt too bad. Nothing to have to remember and don't have to use condoms. No hormones, so no skin break outs, weight gain, crazy behavior, etc. And if I hate it, I can get it taken out.

No experience but personally I would go for the implant as its at least reversable if you dont find it suitable, I am thinking of trying the pill version first and then the implant

Is this like the implant? Can you get it from your dr in uk?

I could be wrong but I think it's the coil.

I was on the jab for about 6 years before having DD1. I loved it but again it's a person choice. I didn't have periods on it which I though was great (saved a small fortune in pads coz I always used to be really heavy).
I stopped it and went on the pill approx a year before TTC because I knew it could take some time to get back to normal but because we knew when we wanted to conceive it wasn't a problem for us. I'll hopefully be going back on it when I finish BFing.
