6 months here. He loves chicken most because he can chew it easier.

My LO had lamb the other sunday, he had a big hunk of it and was chomping and sucking away, he loved it! He had some thinly sliced beef (pre packed that you get for going in sandwiches) cut into strips. He nommed that before anything else!

Meat balls at 6 month and a week! He love meatballs!
He also tried chiken (hate it) and fish (depend on his mood).
I gave chiken as long stripes and fish as fish singers or juSt long strips. Will try steak this weekend. He also had praws but it's not his favorit.
By the way, he has no teeth.

The only thing I would say is to watch the salt on prepackaged meat. It tends to be higher than just cooked meat

I have never given Alexia any meat and I have been weaning her for nearly 2 months. I won't be giving her any before she is 1, I just think it is too hard for their gut to digest. She is happy with fruit, veg and grains for now

This isn't true. Meat can provide a good source of iron. Cereals and grains actually inhibit iron absorption.

What are you basing this on? I don't think so at all. I think it's a good source of iron. If you're afraid that they can't digest it, at least give broth. I've been giving LO chicken or beef broth since we started weaning.

So we gave chicken last night, he seemed to like it. I have a bit left over. Is it ok that I put it in the fridge and give it to him tonight - thoroughly heated through of course and then cooled so he can pick it up?
