why is 8.5 month old waking for a bottle every night again....he eats loads!!

jesse is in the 90 something centile and hes been going up, he dosnt need a night time bottle anymore but recently he is waking and midnight every night and unless i give in and go get his bottle i will be awake with a moaning baby regularly after that. so bad sleep for me. but if i give him it he goes back to sleep and stays asleep until hes had his 11 to 12 hours in total. he is on a morning, lunch and bedtme bottle with 3 meals a day, sometimes even extras like a rusk or a yoghurt. and he eats pretty big portons id say! really dont think he needs this bottle and his weight is on the bigger side im worried he will keep putting on more than he should. he is 23lbs btw. anyone know why all of a sudden he seems to need it to sleep?

is he draining the bottles or is it only a few oz?

If he is draining it id say he needs it, otherwise you could try water?

My LO was 9.5mths and waking for 2/3oz, so i switched to water and now he doesnt stir, he STTN most nights. It was breaking a habit rather than hunger iykwim

My lo did this again last night, woke up at 3am so I gave her a bottle. She polished it off. I'm sure someone has mentioned that there is a 8 month sleep regression.

he drinks all but an oz, and sometimes drink all. there is 7oz in there. sometimes i feel like its hunger, sometimes i feel like its habit, my mum suggested water, i will have to see how we go. i dont want to not give it if he does need it but at the same time i dont want him to gain too much weight. he had a big tea and a bottle close to that just by accident today, usually i space it out better but will see if the extra food later on helps. plus he had extra snacks today as i was trying him with papaya and he ate loads of it!!

My lo has always been on 98th centime for weight and height and now weighs 26lb.dont worry about there weight Hun as once they become more active then they will level off/lose abit.there is an 8 month sleep regression so it could b that and if lo is drinking the milk then I would continue to give it.xx

Fran went through a phase of this at around 11 months - she was just having a mega growth spurt and she dropped it again after a week or 2 xx

My LO is the same, although bf so unsure how much he has. He's huge, as everyone keeps telling me, on 80th centile, eats loads, and wakes for a 3am feed every night. I tried water, he got very upset, if I just get up and feed him he's straight back to sleep. I've just come to accept it now, he'll stop waking in his own time, and the HV assures me you cant really overfeed them at this age.
