Have you tried changing the teat size hun? Sometimes if the flow isn't fast enough they get frustrated and refuse to drink more than a couple of oz xx

Yeh he is on 3+ months teats already cos of the gaviscon, but when we tried size 3 (6+ months) is just seemed to drowned him. Is it worth just persevering with the bigger teat? I'm scared of him choking on too much milk!

It can take a while for them to get used to the faster flow, Fran dribbled loads for about a week when we changed hers.

I don't know which bottles you use but I think most brands do a variflow teat, where the flow is controlled by how hard baby sucks - might be worth giving those a try x

I wouldn't worry too much, if he's hungry he'll eat. I have been worrying about te same thing. My daughter has formula and expressed breast milk and I struggle to get 18oz into her throughout the day. She is 11 weeks and 9lbs the HV and GP are not worried as she is gaining weight albeit slowly and meeting all of her milestones on time.

He has been worse yesterday and today, he now screams after just a few gulps of milk and it's a battle to get an oz or two into him. I'm worried that all this screaming and him being upset while he eats is going to make him just refuse to eat altogether soon. We took him to out of hours doctor today but he just checked him said his tummy felt fine and he wasn't dehydrated so not to worry and take him to his gp on Tuesday when everything's open again and get a referral to the ped. Which i'm sure even if we got one would take ages to go through. The strange thing was, yesterday before bed he drank his usual 5oz without a murmur and slept through till 4am as he usually does, woke up and had another 4oz then went back to sleep till 7.30am. So he seems to feed fine through the night but just doesn't want it at all during the day. I know everyone's saying if he's hungry he willl eat, but if I just gave him what he wanted he would only eat about 15oz a day He seems to happy when he's awake and doesn't seem to care that he is hardly eating!

Can anyone offer any suggestions as we have really struggled to feed him at all today, but have noticed a slight improvement if he is really distracted and calm. I think from the few weeks struggling to feed with reflux he has learned to associate the bottle with pain and is getting stressed before he even eats! Does anyone have any ideas on how to undo this learned behaviour in case thats what it is? We have been topping him up the odd oz here and there all day and he's only had 16oz so far

Try feeding him in a quiet room and maybe play white noise?

Thanks I will give that a try. Yesterday we only managed 18oz so he woke up twice in the night which he never does!

I have finally been given a referral to the paediatrician so just waiting for it to come through. Little man manages about 20oz by the end of the day, but that takes a lot of work, and he is frequently swallowing something and making a funny face so i'm sure it's acid! Just hope they give him something to help him so he can start enjoying his milk again!
