LO waking after each sleep cycle, ditch the dummy?

Hi, it's me again with another sleep thread I'm afraid, but this time about night time sleep!

The last couple of weeks LO has started to wake up every 1-2 hours through the night which I presume is after each sleep cycle. She starts by moaning with her eyes still closed and if left this will escalate and she will wake up crying. We have to go in before this point, give her dummy back and put her on her side and hand on back to resettle her.

Just hoping you would share your experiences and especially those who have ditched the dummy for this reason. I am hesitant to do this as she fights her naps as it is even with the dummy so god knows how she will go to sleep without it!! Any other tips would be appreciated also

Thanks

We had the same problem exactly. I decided to get rid of it. I read that it should be three days of hell and then fine. My baby gave us 5 days of hell and then I gave in at 5 am one morning. I gave him the dummy back but I started being really strict by making him put it in himself in the day time. Then the best thing ever was buying a dummy bunny from Sleepytot website. He finds his own dummy in the night now and doesn't wake us up at all.
It didn't take long at all and he was about the same age as your baby.
I'm glad now that we still have it as it comforts him when he's not well or tired.
