Out of curiosity, how did you get them on a schedule? I think if DS had to wait for his food, he'd have a meltdown, so how did you avoid that?

And twins! I bet you have your hands full

we have a loose schedule which means we generally keep to every 3 hours, but it varies, sometimes he will go a bit longer, especially at night when we feed on demand. I wont purposely wake him up for a feed, but i know if he does go too long without a feed he gets a terrible build up of wind in his stomach and ends up gulping it down, i find it best to be ready and waiting for his needs

I formula fed my first and it was on demand- a fresh bottle each time, freshly made.

If she was hungry an hour later she would get some more, though perhaps I would only make a 2 oz bottle or something like that.

If she had not shown any hunger signs within 4 hrs I would offer a feed

Hi, yeah it wasn't easy at first and to avoid meltdowns had to take them out at first around the tine before a feed as sleep in the pram! I waited until they hit the four hour mark on their own. Then scheduled feeds at 7,11,3 and 7. When I first tried it my little boy just couldn't handle it and we went back to demand feed but when I noticed that he could stretch to 4 hours we started again. Doing it this way means they both take better and bigger feeds.

Altho I'm not so cruell and if one needs a feed a bit earlier I will do it but then will try and stretch them at the next feed if they are able. Last few days I've noticed that they are doing better at waking and wanting at the feed point. I do use dummies to placate tho, it's a twin trick and my only saviour at times!

Yep twins is hard work but lots of fun too!

By the way I don't schedule at night and feed as and when but start the schedule again in the morning!

I might do it differently and demand feed if I didn't have twins, but with two I had to find a routine for my own sanity

On demand, but he set himself into a routine of every about every 3/4 hours in the daytime. He hasn't had a night feed since he was about 12 weeks old. He's being weaned now, so his times in the day have changed, and he is having a lot less.
