Baby all of a sudden wants more milk before bed?

Hi Everyone,

Me and my oh have been keeping a mental note of how many times our little one is being fed a day, now not so long back say a few days he was fine to have his 6th bottle (all at 4oz) before bed and sleep throughout the night. However around 3 days ago he has all of a sudden shown signs of hunger a lot more before his usual sleeping time at around 12, there was one night when we had to feed him 3 bottle's ranging between 3 and 4oz in the space of 3 hours!. And tonight me and my oh thought we should give boost his last bottle from his usual 4 and a half ounce to 5oz just before bed, however a matter of half an hour later he was screaming his head off!. Before even contemplating giving him more milk we tried changing, holding, rocking, giving him his dummy but the only thing that worked was to give him yet another 2 1/2oz of milk. Why has this all of a sudden happened? there's nothing wrong with him well any signs should I say, he's very perky and fine from morning till late evening. But just before bed it's like he likes to stock up on lots of milk as though he's going to hibernate for 2 days lol?

^WSS.. but try lots of burping ... me and my daughter went through the same thing when she was about a week old , and come to think of it - she didnt realize the difference- neither did i - between hunger pain and gas pain .

When Lily was just a few weeks old we noticed she was a really hungry baby, we'd be feeding her and her stummy would be going crazy so we were forever making bottles.
We decided to switch to the milk fo hungrier babies (aptamil) and she was a completely different baby. obviously if you choose to do this it may be best to consult your hea;th visitor first. Ours wasnt to happy because we'd already done it but it wokred best for her. we firstly bought one of the cartons of it to see how she got on with it before buying a tin, but it worked perfectly.
she went through the stage of being really hungry again about a week ago so we just upped her bottle to 5oz and shes fine again,
Also hunger and gas pains can feel vry similar to a baby so try burping before a feed, it can also be colic pains so it may be wise to get hold of some infacol, we swear by that stuff.

Is your LO holding his legs right up like frog legs? Could be wind, try burping him like people have said. I use the legs as an indication to whether my LO is actually still hungry or has a belly ache.

Recently also my LO has been feeding at about 10pm and drinking 4oz. Then around about 12 she wants another 3-4oz. I didn't realize at first she was hungry as midwife said feed every 3-4 hours. But she's just hungry and midwife said it's normal for them to wanna stock up on milk at night. I have switched her to hungrier baby milk also! Btw I also tried everything - changing, cuddling, winding, dummy etc.
