At Tabby's 6 week check up we were seen by a paediatric GP who asked me almost timidly how she was feeding. He looked actually surprised when I said the breast feeding was going well and I fed on demand. Made me feel a bit sad that 6 weeks was an 'unusual' amount of time to breast feed for! Although at a hospital appointment when she was 4.5 months old and I had a surly nurse ask me "breast fed is she?" and I was relieved to be able to say "yes!"....not sure what she would have said if I hadnt been lol!!

Good God I'd never need to work again if I had a pound for every time people suggested I switched to ff.

The whole are you sure you have enough for him really did my head in.

My father in laws brother said to me when my baby was just 6 months and had only had breastmilk "I'm surprised you can make enough milk" (he's a tall, soild baby) I'm a 34 H cup so he didn't mean because of looking at me, he just thought women needed to always top up with formula.

It is so sad - but then again I am one that is, I suppose, exaserbating that problem having switched shortly before 6 months (not going into a looong, guilt fuelled defence of why because, lets face it, there is no need).

I get really wound up with the new adverts at the top of BnB...'what after Lisa's milk?'. NOTHING YOU FREAKING MORON, IF LISA IS HAPPY THEN LISA'S MILK IS FREAKING AWESOME! *and breath*.

Although, you are right that you're damned if you do/damned if you don't.

Battynora...that advert annoys the cr@p out of me too...arrrggghhh!

I've had so many people assume that I FF that I lost count months ago. The worst time was when LO was suffering with colic, everyone I spoke to said 'have you tried x bottle' or 'put x in the bottle', the looks I received when I told them that I BF you'd have thought I had told them that I was liquidising McDonalds for her.

OP - it really does my head in too!

I've had this!! I'm still breastfeeding and everyone keeps asking me if I'm still doing it whenever they see me! Then the next question is, when am I going to stop?

I also hate that Facebook banned pictures of breastfeeding mums, but that's another topic... lol...
