Feverish baby, what to put her down to sleep in?

I hope you ladies are all having a better Easter than we are! Poor baby was up half the night sick. She woke at about 2am, not really fussy but just awake. She'd done a poo so I changed her, and it was all downhill from there! She cried for hours until 6:30 when she finally fell asleep. I noticed when I changed her that she felt really hot. She had a temp of 38.1, then after I gave Calpol it dropped to 37.7. She had a big vomit (all over mummy and the bed!) and has also been crying every time she does a poo. Her stools are loose and she has a bit of nappy rash.

She seems better now, her temp is back down to normal range but she's still fussy. I don't know if it's a bug or possibly teeth, but we haven't had a fun day! At any rate I'm not sure what to put her down to bed in tonight. She still feels warmish to me. Normally she sleeps in a sleepsuit + 2.5 tog sleeping bag. The bedroom is about 18 degrees. She's been hanging out in a vest all day. Any advice? Thank you! xx

Poor little thing... I would just keep doing as you're doing; monitoring her temperature and if it goes up give calpol and remove layers...
You you both have a better night tonight x

Hi,
we had this with Adrian week before last. Poor little man had an ear infection. His temp got up to 39.3. We did the whole coolish sponge bath, strip him off etc etc.
We gave him calpol and nuerofen (sp) (as well as his antibiotics) at regular intervals. He ended up sleeping in his vest and a 1.0 tog sleeping bag. I checked his temp every time i woke up (he slept 9pm-4am) and at 1am it was 37, so i left him. By 4am it was up to 38.4 so stripped him off to his nappy and brought him to bed with us. He lay in between us with just a very thin blanket over him.
I'd say do sleep suit and then blanket(s). You'll probably automatically wake up to check on her and then you can easily take a blanket off etc if necessary without disturbing her.
Hope she's feeling better soon!
Call your out of hours docs if you are worried

Thanks, ladies. I think I might try vest and sleepsuit and see how it goes. She's been napping a lot today so I'm hoping she'll sleep tonight. Hoping! The frustrating thing is we were just coming out of a sleep regression, and the night before was the first time she'd spent the whole night in her bed in two weeks. She was doing well last night too up until then. I hope she feels better and this doesn't mess up our sleep any more! It's precious stuff around here.
