I never focused on my edd, I was getting my mot done and doing the weekly shop the day my waters broke. I was driving to pick up a take away when the first lot of waters went lo was born at 41+3. I was ready to refuse induction also. My placenta was in good condition and everything was fine. He just had extra time to get nice and big.

Good luck - I know how frustrating it is but LO will be here before you know it xx
Well i hope i have the same success as you did, tomorrow then. I have been getting aches and pains but then they disappear again, so frustrating. Please let this 2nd sweep work lol.
I heard that 2nd sweeps are more successful - I came home at 11.30am and cleaned the floor on hands and knees - by 5.00pm I was having irregular contractions and by next morning full labour!

Stay as active as you can and swivel your hips in an 8 motion - seemed to work for me - good luck hun xx
I will keep active lol i have some more housework i wanna do tomorrow. My sweep is at 10am so hopefully it works and yes i will swivel my hips lol.

Mine have been born at 41+6, 41+2 and 41+4. I guess it just takes me a little longer to cook a baby but each one was perfectly healthy.

The days after your due date are sooooooo loooooooong! I feel for you. Hopefully the sweep sets you off!

Just got back and i don't think it was very successful. It didn't hurt anymore or anything when the midwife did the sweep but once she was near my cervix i had really bad period type crampy feeling. Midwife said this was a good sign but she didn't want to hurt me anymore (i didn't mind if she did go for it as it wasn't hurting hurting iykwim?) So that was that!

When she pulled her fingers out there was loads of that gloopy snotty discharge/plug? But anyways looks as though i'll have to have an induction on Thursday.

In my notes the midwife just put no change from last time.

I was discussing this with my midwife today and out of curiosity did any of you ladies who went overdue get your EDD changed at your 12 week scan?

My due date was put forward by 10 days at my 12 week scan due to my baby measuring bigger than a 12 weeker? Now i am "overdue" by 9 days, so i am almost at what was my original due date was (tomorrow).
Although the 11/04/12 was never used once i'd had the scan, my EDD was always known as 1st April 2012. But i wonder how accurate the scans are? I understand they go by measurements of the baby to get the new EDD but what if your baby just measures bigger than average?
Also the midwife said its funny because if the baby comes out quite wrinkly with no or hardly any vernix, then it usually indicates that the baby is (truely)overdue. And if the baby comes out with quite a lot of vernix on them then it usually indicates that the baby has arrived earlier than EDD?
Quite interesting and now i am intrigued to know if my baby comes out more or less vernix?

I was two weeks overdue with my DD and remember well feeling a bit of pressure from the never-ending texts from well-wishers!

Don't worry - as the previous posters have said, the baby will be here before you know it! I spent my overdue days watching boxsets, bouncing on my labour ball to help the baby into a good position and was snoozing for the rest of the time. Wish I had taken a few more gentle walks as that may have helped things start spontaneously.

Spend these last couple of days resting as much as you can and if you feel restless spend a bit of time checking through your hospital bag, get in any shopping you might need in the few days once the baby has arrived, freeze a few meals and assemble any baby equipment that you can safely do on your own - trying to work out how to use the steriliser when very sleep-deprived was not exactly easy!

I had a private scan at 8 weeks and they gave me a date of 31st Aug, NHS scan at 12+3 said 2nd Sept, he was born 11th Sept. My LO had no vernix but wasn't wrinkled either. He was 10lb3oz though.
