I know you'll be desperate to see LO but if you don't think you are post term, and even if you did, you can request monitoring rather than induction.
Hope it doesn't come to that anyway. Labour vibes being sent
x

I do want to be induced as i will be 12 days overdue, overdue by the EDD i was given and from 12 weeks i have gotten used to that date now. But i was just curious to see if other overdue people had had their edd's changed at the 12 week scan?

Our LO was 9 days overdue, the days go so slowly while you're waiting for LO to arrive but once he or she is here you'll forget all about the wait and the days will fly by!x

I was put back 3 days by my 12 week scan - so EDD moved from 25.12.10 to 28.12.10. They then left me 15 days from the later date, so 18 days past my date based on LMP.

By his birth, my LO was really struggling, had passed his mec, his heart rate wasn't stable, and he was quite clearly 'post-term', even though he was a relatively tiny 7lb1oz. His placenta was OK as far as I know, but he should have been born a couple of days earlier, IMO. I think they made a mistake in changing my dates and leaving me so long.

I had a pretty bad birth experience, so my advice is tinged by that. But no way would I let them let me go more than 10-12 days before they induced me (although they may not be willing to ever try and induce me again, given that I ended up with an EMCS). Pregnancy wise, I was happy to continue. I felt OK in myself, and I was fit and still able to walk easily - I walked to the hospital the day LO was born, which is a couple of miles. After my experience of what happened to LO, though, I wouldn't want to risk it again.

Don't forget that the sweep can take 24 or even 48 hours to take effect so it might work yet. Hang on in there. Definitely try to get as much sleep as you can and some nutritious meals. Good luck x

Hi Hun, I went 40+12 and spent the last 7 days feeling exactly as you do now. I was convinced something was wrong, that I would never meet my bubba. He's now 10 days old asleep next to me on the sofa. In the hospital I discovered its really common and the staff don't see any concern with going over by 12 days. In typical fashion, I went into labour on the evening of 40+11 and my waters we green so they only let me labour 24 hours before we ended up with a c-section. He was born at 1:35pm on 40+12.

Easy to say now it's over, but hold tight and keep going hunny, after 9 months this time will pass very quick and it's onwards and upwards. I actually can't even remember how it felt to be pregnant! Which is crazy considering it was 10 days ago, babies keep you busy!! Xxx

I went to 42+2 and then asked for a c-section. I had been in hospital for 5 days by then having at least 7 or 8 doses of prostin gel but my cervix hadn't budged at all so they couldn't even try and break my waters or get in enough to do a proper sweep.

When I had got to 42 weeks they started monitoring the baby 3 times a day instead of twice a day and the midwives all seemed worried for me but I did have seriously high bp and was on drugs for that.

I knew the dates were right as well because my DS is an IVF baby so we knew the exact date of conception. Also my DS is very tall so said they would have changed the due date to over a week earlier based on the scan measurements if he hadn't known the exact date.

The midwives persuaded me to ask the consultant for a c-section when I got to 42+1 because they were worried for us. He agreed and booked me in for the next morning. I am glad I did because the worrying was terrible and I was so convinced my child wasn't going to make it if I waited any longer. The c-section was fine but they did say my placenta was calcified and my DS's skin was cracked and bleeding all over by the time he was born, he was pickled bless him. He was also bloody starving and grumpy and breastfed hourly for months to try and catch up.

I always thought if I didn't go in labour by 42 weeks I would just sit and wait but when it came down to it I had some sort of mummy sixth sense and knew it wasn't right.

I was such a cowbag as well, I was ready to kill anyone who gave me any more tips for starting labour by that point, that 5 days in hospital was the most stressful time of my life. I was so jealous of all the women in labour around me and felt like shouting at them for making their labour noises, aren't I awful!
