Did anyone go over 41 weeks pregnant? UPDATE PAGE 8

I posted this in third trimester but thought i might get some replies in here too.

I was coping so well with being overdue, up until yesterday when i hit 41 weeks. Now i suddenly feel scared and anxious for my LO.

I feel like i'm never gonna get to meet him and that something bad is gonna happen?

I have a 2nd sweep tomorrow morning and my induction is booked for Thursday morning. In the meantime how can i stay calm for another 3 days?

Yep. 41+5. I went all the way to my induction day, and just about managed to be in labour naturally instead of having to be induced.

It feels like forever, doesn't it? But there's no reason to think your baby will be harmed - up to 42 weeks, it counts as normal 'term' in the UK.

I feel your pain, I was induced at 41+3, the last few weeks felt like a lifetime. When I was waiting for my induction I took a lot of relaxing baths, had a few long walks and just generally chilled, easier said than done though. Fingers crossed the sweep tomorrow works!

My waters broke (finally!!!!) at 41 +4 and I had my baby at 41+6!! Oooooh I know exactly how u r feeling but it won't be long until ur holding ur LO in ur arms and it's all forgotten!!! I strongly advise ya to RELAX and take it easy these last few days (or hours!!)

I have to admit I too kept thinking about the safety of my baby but it is very normal to stil b preg at 42 weeks u have nothing to worry about

Good luck it is such an exciting time x x x

Thank you ladies for replying.

I just keep reading stuff on here about how its bad to go over 40 weeks and the placenta starts to fail, and baby is more likely to poo inside you which is dangerous if they inhale it. Just getting so anxious and scared for my LO in there.

Fingers are crossed my sweep works tomorrow.

Try not to worry. Just think you have waited 9 months it won't be much longer. Make the most of the time you have now to relax and do whatever you want! Your baby will be here soon. I was induced at 41 + 5 I felt uncomfortable, huge and fed up of people asking of I'd had the baby yet!

I was 41+2 so 9 days over. LO was fine, placenta was a little detoriated and calcified but nothing to worry about. had a very successful and totally natural homebirth

I was prepared to refuse induction up to 42+5.

Youre not really overdue until you hit 42 weeks anyway! EDD are just estimates, anything from 37-42 is 'fullterm'.

Thank you, i will try to relax. But i've just burst into tears right now just feel like all my emotions have built up and i'm so scared. I don't know why i've suddenly started feeling this way as 2 days ago i was fine with being overdue?

I am also fed up of the constant messages on facebook asking if i've had my LO yet? Why don't people think if i'd had him i would be letting them all know as soon as i could?

My LO came at 42 weeks after induction at 41+6. The wait is horrible but you're nearly there. Big hugs x
