Why would anyone give a baby alcohol, not only is it illegal to give under 5s booze in the UK (not that I would give a 5 year old any) its just stupid, what if something happened, and the LO had to go to hospital, dunno how anyone would talk their way out of alcohol levels being in LO's blood.

It's just stupid. The only possible way my LO could ever even get the slightest bit of alcohol is if I fed after drinking a bottle of wine and that will never happen. If I do have wine it's one glass after I pump or feed so it can dissipate before the next feed. If I ever decide to drink mode, I will use freezer stash.

This is just silly. No need for the baby to "taste" alcohol on purpose!

I wonder if that would be a social services situation

Didn't you know? Cigarettes are good for you, orgasms relieve hysteria in women and the world is flat?
All things previously thought to be true, but now we know better. So I have zero respect for anyone plays the card "my mum/grandma/MIL/Fanny Anne's cousin down the road gave their baby alcohol/solids at 3 months blah blah, and they were fine".
Things are different now thanks to education.

Alcohol as a baby/child is completely uneccesary.

I thought this too! I was prepared to write that I'm currently teetotal, not that I'm ensuring my baby is!

Orgasms relieve hysteria?! Well... I'm sure calm afterwards. Quite lethargic actually
