I only used the carrycot on my pram 5 times. I have the mamas and papas sola and you buy the carrycot separate. If I did it again I'd buy the pram new but the carrycot second hand of eBay, don't know if you can do that with the pram you like? I bought way to many clothes just sold loads on eBay that's he's never even worn. I wouldn't go mad on. Clothes ppl buy you loads and you can always get more if you need them. To be honest I've used everything else i bought so not the best person to ask x

changing table- i change on the couch with a changing pad.
dresser- but he has a big closet
breastfeeding will save tons of money especially if you dont pump. I buy nothing for feedings. no formula, bottles, sterelizers, water ect.
you could go to cheaper stores and see what they have. Here in the US they have marshalls and tj maxx. I got his play met and boppy almost half off.
During weaning you can make your own baby food
Second hand clothing is good all the do it pee, poop, and vomit on them lol
Nursery bedding is total waste

I second this. We bought a brand new carrycot for our pram and used it a total of about three times before he got too big/nosey for it, do I'd definitely go second-hand next time.

I also agree about the clothes. The amount of stuff I've packed away completely unworn is ridiculous. My LO grew very quickly and literally did not have time to wear all of his clothes before they no longer fit him - such a waste. Next time I'd buy minimal outifts and have a pack of cheapy plain babygros on standby instead...he ended up being in babygros most of the time when he was tiny as much easier to get on/off for changes etc than outfits.

I never used a changing table - mat on the florr/bed is fine. My LO also hated his baby bath so that was a waste as he prefers the big bath.

I have a moses basket which he wouldn't sleep in and was too big for at about 6 weeks so that was also a waste...he just went straight into his crib.

I'd say the best advice is not to go mad buying stuff before the baby is born. You really only need the basics at first and it gives you time to work out what you actually need/like

THIS.

We were so broke the few months before the baby was born (DH was laid off and I wasn't working). And I mean DEAD broke. I was so concerned that we wouldn't have what we needed. But really, all you need the first weeks is to keep the baby fed, clean, and warm. Focus on those things, and forget about all the 'fluff.' Don't worry about getting things you'll need as your baby gets older, just get what you really need for now. Before LO was born, I sat down and made a list of everything I wanted, then went through and sorted through that list into WANTS and NEEDS. And we only got things that were on our NEED list. We didn't really need things like a stroller (I didn't go anywhere but church for a month PP!), crib, diaper pail, or baby carrier, etc. It's easy to think you need them, since that's what society and advertisements suggest. They're so nice to have, but we got by just fine without them.

Now that DH is back to full-time, and the baby is here, it's fun to go out and get things we want for her. We still mostly go to second-hand stores, and spend responsibly though.

Good luck on your upcoming labor! See you here in Baby Club soon

my pram is a cheap cossatto, my baby bath was a waste as he outgrew it in a matter of weeks, changing table isn't needed, just a mat. Clothing wise I wouldn't buy loads, my LO grew out of newborn in 2 weeks and went through not even quater of his small clothing. Same with nappies. Also toys he wasn't interested in at all until about 4 months so there was no point in getting any until later lol

We got our double buggy on preloved.com. They were cheaper than eBay but we did have to drive and collect it. I find cat boot sales the best for second hand stuff. Most clothes are between 20p and £1 per item and it is really nice stuff in good condition. People sell everything there and there is so much baby stuff. Toys that are £20 or more in Argos you will get for £1. I am not that into labels, but when my DS was little we got a load of Ralph Lauren babygrows for 50p each which I later found out were £30 each new!

nct sales are great.
I personally would not buy a moses basket, I found it totally useless but I have a friend who loved hers.
There are not many things that a baby actually needs other than nappies, milk and a few clothes and blankets.
I found supermarket clothes were great, I got 6-8 vests and 6-8 white sleepsuits in each size, one pack per weekly shop.
I was given a lot of outfits and cuddly toys.
I love my changing unit in the bathroom, I find it very handy but I can see how you can just manage on a changing mat.
x

Bootsales are best for second hand stuff and also baby events and places like gumtree and ebay, look for clothing bundles and if they are local you can go have a look first make sure they are good condition. I wanted everything new but went second hand and am so glad i did because honestly you wouldnt know the diff as all looks brand new and saved so much £££! xx
