Aww I am a bad mother! I get my LC to read his reading book before bed to me and Ruby! Killing two birds with one stone here! He also loves the dr suess books and Ruby seems to be quite liking him read to her! I get a few minutes to chill out! Altho I do have to help with the difficult words!

I really like those usborne books called "thats not my... teddy/bunny/pony/robot" delete as appropraite .. They are short and have different textures and feely bits! I think they would be perfect for a newborn/ younger baby....

And I think you can get those Lamaze books too they are meant to be good for the colours and shapes.... x

Reading to your baby gets progressively harder as they learn how to grab the book from your hands and have a good chew! LOL

I've read to my LO since we got home from the hospital. At my baby shower, we asked people to give us baby books and sign their name in them instead of getting us a card. So we have a cute little collection. And yes, baby can't understand.. but the sound of my voice seems to be soothing. I'd definitely buy a couple cheap ones and enjoy the bonding time with your LO! =) It's fun! The books are so cute too, I actually enjoy them!
