would you be upset if

someone gave your LO someone else's breast milk by accident? so far i've had two separate incidences of someone giving my breast milk to another baby! one in the hospital NICU and another when i visited my mom and she accidentally defrosted my expressed milk when feeding my niece instead of my SILs.

I can see how that could be very upsetting! As long as I knew the person whose bm lo was getting and I knew they weren't n any medications or smoking or drinking I would probably be ok with it. I might be a little grossed out and ask whoever to be more careful next time, though

In those situations, no. I mean I'd tell them and ask for them to be careful that it doesn't happen again but No biggy. I'd happily feed anyone elses child.

the hospital gave me the wrong baby's labels and i didn't notice the first pump as i was talking to the dr when i labeled. when i realized it, they were already feeding my last pump to another baby. i wasn't angry about it until they made me get full blood screening to cover their asses to the other family that i wasn't contaminated. this is after i had been stuck probably at least 50 times for bloodwork in the previous 3 weeks. my veins wouldn't even give blood easy anymore so they had to stick me 3 times with a butterfly needle to even get any to come out. i hate needles.

i probably would be concerned if someone gave my LO someone else's breast milk if i didn't know them. i was just curious what others thought as when it first happened i didn't realize it was a big deal.

This occured in the hospital in my city and there was a huge investigation as a result. It turned out the breast milk that the wrong baby was fed the mom has a disease so now they have to test the baby every few months to see if the baby contracted the disease.

I am not too familiar with how the accident happened or what the circumstances were but I am positive that babies family is completely upset!

Personally, I would be really grossed out if a stranger's breast milk was fed to my baby. If it was a friend/family member who accidently fed my baby the wrong milk I wouldnt be too concerned as long as they didnt have any disease or anything.

I would only care if it was someone that I don't know.

one of my mum's favourite stories to tell me about my birth is that she produced loads of milk and single handedly fed all of the under fed babies in the ward/those whose mums weren't producing much lol. personally I'd be happy for my milk to feed other babies but wouldn't like someone else feeding mine...haha double standards x

yes it would bother me personally. I think that whoever is doing the feeding should be responsible & know whose milk is whose and being able to give it to the right baby. If it happen on just one occasion, then I would let it slide. But twice.. come on now people pay attention lol.

If I didn't know the milk was safe (hadn't been screened) I would be upset, yeah.
