Some states making vaccines mandatory

Vaccines have been a requirment for years now but in some states like Illonis and Pennsylvania vaccines now are becoming mandatory. If you don't have all the vaccines you cannot go to school and it is an unexcused absense. For those who have no insurance and cannot afford it places like Reading are now offering free vaccines. The only ones exempt are people with medical or religous reasons. Recent outbreaks like whooping cough has pushed vaccines into being mandatory.

That begs the question on if it is wrong to make it mandatory. I am pro vaccine but i am curious if it is taking away rights from parent. Or is more unfair that people who believe in vaccines and know they are not 100% effective be forced to send there kids to school where other kids do not have vaccines? It is illegal to neglect your child by not taking them to the doctor. For example people who believe prayer heals and do not believe in doctors will not take their children to doctors and if the child dies they can go to jail for neglect. All americans have the right to have k-12 education and all states have free cyber school so it is not preventing these people from getting education.

I am on the fence I am more leaning towards it being mandatory but then again thats easy for me to say because it is something i believe in so I was curious what other people believe. Please no arguments lets be civil. also if you are in the UK or somewhere else I would like to know is vaccines are mandatory or if other contries are anti vaccine.
DO NOT BE RUDE, NO NAME CALLING!!! everyone has there views and what one person believe another may think its a load of bull

May have been up to the district or something before I went to South Park and my parents always said it was mandatory and CCAC required a list of my vaccines too. But at that time they may have just been looking for specific vaccinations. It's good some schools have set up clinics though... still not sure that I agree with it. I always though some parents had to hold off on vaccines due to allergies or other reasons

They allow religous and medical exemptions so if you have allergies you dont have to get it. The free clinics support my theory that vaccines are not only for money considering the big pharma companies make only 2% off vaccines and now they are offering them for free
Also big pharma would make more from outbreaks

As far as I knew it was mandatory in all states unless you used one of the exemptions...what exemptions vary depending on the state you were in though. For example, in TX we can use religious, medical or philosophical (which basically just means you don't believe in them for whatever reason). I use philosophical..my kids attend public school but are not vaccinated. We have to renew our exemption every 2yrs, IF we didn't do it they wouldn't be able to attend school...just like if a child that does get vaccinated didn't get a booster or something wouldn't be able to attend until they got it. I'm sure it varies by school or district just how well they keep up with that but I know that my boys needed new exemptions by May so the nurse gave me a call and I got them both renewed and turned in so it would never become an issue. You also can't enroll without either the vaccine record or exemption. Every state has medical exemption and I think all but maybe 2 have religious and then some have philosophical.

And to answer your other question YES I think it is infringing on parental rights by requiring them to have them or not get an education. I don't mind having to do the exemptions and I do understand them wanting to be sure people are actually making the decision not just being lazy and not wanting to go get them done so I don't mind doing it at all but I do think that all exemptions should be available in all states so that parents have the choice.
