Found the answer to make your baby sleep through the night!!!!

A lot of people are asking how to make their baby sleep through the night. Well I think I know the answer...... 'NEGLECT'!!! lol

My first baby took around 9 months to sleep through the night - I remember being sat up playing with him at 3 in the morning as he wouldn't sleep and being in tesco doing the weekly shop at 5am!!! It was a nightmare.

My second baby is now 14 weeks old and has been sleeping though (7pm - 7am) for 2 weeks now!!!

I am sure it is because she doesn't get the attention Archie got! If I am busy with Archie and Ellie starts crying for whatever reason I can't just jump up and grab her all the time as it is not fair on Archie so she has learnt to self settle herself. Obviously I don't let her scream her head off!!!

Please don't misunderstand me here I don't literally neglect my child I just can't be in two places at once! LOL

Do you think maybe it's because experience has helped you understand he cues better or that she is a different baby too? I've seen posts where it's the other way around and the second baby won't sleep! LOL

Also she's a girl, are girls different temperments? I'll be interested to see how the pole turns out.

I think it just depends on the baby. DS had severe reflux and sleep apnea so developed bad habits early on. He still wakes loads at 16.5 months!

DD still doesn't sleep through at 22 months.

DS is doing pretty well at 8 weeks, he goes from 11 till 7, give or take, though he has problems with wind at about 5am every single morning. What's that about?!

I think DS settled at night sooner because he was in hospital for the first 4.5 weeks and they've a 'minimal handling' policy in there, so he wasn't held a lot.

I think its just down to the baby and nothing you can do makes much difference.
My 1st slept 8pm - 8am from 8 weeks old, and has always been a good sleeper.
2nd was a little insomniac and didnt sleep a full night through until she was 4 yrs old
3rd has been an ok sleeper, has always woke in the night at least once but gets in our bed and goes straight back to sleep
and this one is almost 2 weeks old and shes awake all evening then we go to bed about 11.30 and she only wakes for feeds at around 3am and 6am, so so far very good! but could all change.
we have done things the same with all of them.

Ds1 slept through 7pm to 6am from 11 weeks old.

Dd was about 3.5 years before she did it and ds2 is 2 next month and has yet to sleep longer than 4 hours!
