It's quite likely. That's why I tore so badly inside as she must have caught me the whole way out! Makes me cringe just to think about it now. It was agony for about 2/3 weeks afterwards, definitely worse than the actual giving birth I'd say.

i had grazes and stitches(2nd degree) and i birthed on the bed

I didn't tear at all or graze with my water birth-things were just like normal straight away. I will definitely have a water birth next time, its fab for the pain

DS, Bath untill pushing, gave birth on dry land a graze
DD, Moving sofa's, cleaning house, filling birthpool untill pushing, (not enough time to get in pool though) Gave birth on livingroom floor, Nothing.

I was induced so had a bed birth. I ended up having 4 lots of stiches, both internally and externally due to my LO arriving so quickly!!!
