Not going back to work.

Is anyone not ever going back to work?

I don't think I will bother. With the cost of childcare and before and after school care, we would'nt be better off financially so what's the point! I will miss it though but on the other hand at least I don't have to worry about where the kids will go on the school holidays and taking days off because they are sick.

I am not returning to work anytime soon. I looked at the cost of childcare, and for a full time day place, it will be about £1000, so I can do that but not pay rent or bills etc lol. Not a hope in hell for work anytime soon for me

I don't want to go back just working out if we can afford for me not to go back. I work in a nursery and would get discount but only 10% so only £3 off a day. Plus working in a nursery a actually makes it worse because it's leaving your own child to look after someone else's and I'd rather be spendingy time with Noah x

I'm not returning to a job until we are finished having kids and they are in primary school, i'm hoping to do a degree from home over the next few years. For the reasons everyone else has said cost of childcare, my OH suggested this when we talked about having kids so I was happy to agree and he said he would rather work a few longer hours and i stay at home and look after the kids

I can't see my working until the children are in school. I've never earnt more than £20k and having been out of work (was at uni before having dd) I think I'll struggle to find a job paying that in current job markets. I've worked it out, local nurseries will cost us about £1600 a month for two children and we won't qualify for any help other than the free 15hrs when they reach 3.

Had the child tax credits not have changed it might have been differen but not now. Dont think dh is too happy but I'm not working for Effectively nothing and letting someone else raise my babies.

I'm not going back to work but I'm going to do childminding from home to get a bit of income. Going back full-time was never an option for me.
