Advice please

My LO is 6 and a half weeks old and yesterday morning when I changed her, she hadn't pooped which is strange for her as nearly every nappy has poop. This continued most the day with very little poo at all and then at about 3 I checked her nappy again and no poop. 10 mins later, after hearing some wet sounding farts I picked her up to change her and she was COVERED all over her legs, back and tummy with poop. She seemed a lot better after that but then we have had no poops again since.
She is still feeding fine and still getting wet nappies but is this normal? I am sitting rubbing her tummy just now incase she is blocked up
I am at the doctors at 4 this afternoon anyway for her 6 week check up so I will ask then anyway x x

These are fondly called 'number 3's' here in NZ, so named in an advertising campaign by a diaper company who said they could handle 'number 1's, 2's and those explosive number 3's'. Since it was on an ad and apparently a good selling point for diapers, I would say it is very normal for a baby to have the occasional explosive poop. DS has had a couple that go straight up his back nearly to his neck - very gross but par for the course!!
