choking

OMG!! he almost choked to death.
I was sitting at my desk working on school while he crawled around my room. I checked on him pretty often just turned my head to make sure hes ok. Well even though I vacuum at least every day a packing peanut must have went under my dresser because If i saw it i would have picked it up. Anyway I heard him coughing and I looked at him and he was just pulled up on his round we go. I brushed it off as nothing because he has had a cough lately. Then he coughed again but it sounded different and he kept coughing. I saw his face was red and he was making this face I dropped my book imediatly ran to him. I looked in his mouth and saw bits of a packing peanut and I was careful to get them out without shoving in further but he was still coughing. The worst part is I am home alone and idk what the **** to do. (my mother is a nurse she would have known) well i just tried burping him by laying him on my knees patting a little harder then you would while burping. THANK HIS GAURDIAN ANGEL because he threw it all up and was himself again ready to play.

I am definatly going to take a CPR class now. I thought I wouldnt need one as long as I keep him away from choking hazards but I failed at that.

I feel horrible like I am a terrible mum but I am happy he is ok.
I just had to tell someone

coughing is good as they usually cough it up. Its when they cant talk, breathe or cough that you worry.

for future reference.

Youre not a bad mummy and im glad your LO is okay x

Sounds like you helped him get it up so I don't think you can say you're a bad mum.

PS...wanted to say hi as well...kiddies are same ages and I'm a young(ish), now-single mum!
